Tournament Winner / Top 10 Finish
🇪🇸 Jon Rahm +1200 / +160
The Spaniard is flying a bit under the radar for my taste. While Rory and Scheffler are commanding a larger betting handle, it’s a great time to ride the #1 player in the FedEx Cup. Rahm can channel his inner Seve to conquer Royal Liverpool.
🇺🇸 Jordan Spieth +3300 / +320
He’s 9/9 in cuts made in his career at the British Open, with a win, and five top 10’s at a variety of links courses. Coming off a MC at the Scottish Open, his odds came down a bit, which means we’re buying Spieth stock at a discount.
🇰🇷 Tom Kim +7000 / +600
Excellent value for a player who’s trending. We’re calling last Sunday a wash, so Kim rolls into Liverpool off the heels of three very strong days of golf in Scotland. At 70/1, Tom Kim is underpriced and very much worth the gamble.
🇺🇸 Sam Burns +7000 / +600
Doesn’t have great history at the British Open, so this is more of a bet on form. Burns treks into England after posting four top 30’s in his last five events and looks like a player peaking at the most pivotal time of the season.
🇯🇵 Hideki Matsuyama +8000 / +550
Value play, has the pedigree, and is a very dangerous lurker on the leaderboard. Hideki is playing good golf, five top 25 finishes in his last 8 starts. Matsuyama is a big game hunter, so 80/1 is a great time to buy the Japanese ace.
